DVI REMOTE: REMOTE SOLUTION FOR FIBRE OPTIC CABLING
  • Remote control your Workstation over only one fiber optic cable
  • Save space and prevent heat radiation from workstations at the desk
  • Brilliant picture quality without any adjustments due to digital signal transmission

Overview

With the DVI-Remote you can easily remote your local Workstations into a protected and air-conditioned area like a system room or cabinet. Save on costs
for air-conditioning on the trading floor. Floor space can be used more effectively because without computers at the desk, a smaller desk footprint is necessary.
Costs for fibre optical cables are lower than for twisted pair cablings.

Highlights

  • Remote video, audio and data links of a workstation over only one fiber optic cable of single mode
  • Reduce heat radiation at the desk
  • Lower desk space required
  • Long distances feasible without any disturbance on signal transmission
  • Crystal clear digital image
  • No adjustments required
  • USB2.0 supported
Features
The DVI-Remote is available as Dual or Quad solution. With the DVI-Remote quad solution one PC with four video outputs (quad) or two PCs with two video outputs (dual) are transmitted over one glass fibre cable of single mode.

Remoted links
The following interfaces can be remoted:
- Video (DVI-A/DVI-D)
- USB (1.1/2.0)
- Audio (Line out / Microphone)
On the transmitter side analogue (DVI-A) or digital (DVI-D) video signals can be fed. The output signal on the receiver side is always digital (DVI-D). For PS2 keyboard and mouse at the desk USB to PS2 adapters can be used.

Transmission
The remoted links are transmitted over fibre optic cables of single mode: With the DVI-Remote long distances of about 4km are possible. Long distances can also be realised by repeaters for fibre optical cables. Transmission lines for multimode cables (two lines per transmission needed) are available on request but results in shorter feasible distances (30-300m).

Product Lines
The following versions of the DVIRemote are available:

DVI-Remote Dual / Quad

Transmitter and Receiver are available as dual or quad modules.

  • The Quad module is based on two dual modules which are internally linked

Housings

  • DVI-R card modules can either be mounted in a 19” / 3 units high chassis with redundant dual power supplies or in standalone chassis with external power supply
  • For the desk several desk chassis are available

Digital PC extension
Glass fibre cable have some benefits compared to twisted pair cablings (TWP). Due to the dimensions fibre optic cables are using less cable run space than TWP cables. Due to the dimensions fibre optic cables are using less cable run space than TWP cables.

Problems as known from TWP cablings like skew, colour interferences, jitter and crosstalk belong to the past with fibre optic cables. With the pure digital transmission from the PC’s video card output (DVI) to the monitor at the desk, the user will get a crystal clear image. No adjustments are necessary.
Workstations can be placed in racks in the systemroom. A tidy cabling management allows efficient maintenance and support. The Workstations can be easily
rearranged in case of move or change activities.
