The SP1 single-wide blade PC features a Pentium4 processor, a 533MHz or 800MHz front-side bus with hyperthreading support, two 10/100/1000 Ethernet controllers, and an on-board video controller. Each SP1 blade PC features one or two dual Serial ATA local drives (hardware RAID1), and 1 full length 32-bit PCI adapter slot by utilizing a PCI riser. Up to 4 GB DDR RAM is supported with half length and low profile PCI adapters. (Up to 2GB DDR RAM is supported with dual hard drives (RAID1) or a full length PCI adapter. Instead of using low-performance, high cost mobile chips, Cubix uses standard Intel Pentium4 or Celeron desktop processors in conjunction with the high performance Intel 865GV chipset to achieve outstanding blade PC price / performance value.
The blade PC, drive(s) and PCI adapter are vertically positioned next to each other, and are front-extractable as a set for easy serviceability. Each SP1 blade PC contains a Cubix Monitoring Controller (CMC) that is an independent computer with its own Ethernet NIC, IP stack and processor. Additionally a set of KVM connectors is available at the front of each blade for direct KVM connection if desired.
