Data Center Desktops

Data Center Desktops Blade PCs and Blade Computers
  • Back racked PC blades with digital extension to the
    desktops
  • Cat5, Cat5E copper connected
  • Single, dual, quad headed display support
  • Soft switch support for moves / adds / changes

Data Center Desktop blade PCs allow you to provide incredible processing power with true digital resolution quality to your employees without the worry of user-initiated desktop configuration changes, asset theft, or security violations.

Plus your valuable data and network assets are secure and centralized on blade PCs in your data center for easy management.

DCD separates the desktop display components from the processing and storage components.  The desktop user’s monitor, keyboard, and mouse connect to a small junction box with local USB and PCI adapter support.  The “PC” is actually a Cubix blade PC that is located in the secure and climate conditioned environment of your datacenter up to 300 feet away using CAT5 cable.

Data Security

With Cubix DCD, data stays resident on the blade computers and never transfers to the desktop.  Data is locked away in the privileged access controlled datacenter and is inaccessible to the general populace.  In high security areas, DCD offers the highest data security possible!!!

In contrast, having local processing resources and hard drives at the desktops are tremendous security risks.  Classified data can be offloaded and stolen.

Physical Security

With Cubix DCD, a worker does not have access to his blade computer because the actual processing resources are locked up in the data center.  Workers can’t change configurations, add software, introduce viruses, etc.

In contrast, security sensitive data could be stolen simply by carrying the localized computers off premises. Plus supervisors would need to do a count of all computer equipment all the time to make sure none was ever missing.

Management

Administrators can manage the DCD blade PC processing resources in the datacenter.  There is no need to enter the workers’ area for adds/moves/changes or any network administration chores.  All computer and network management can be done in the datacenter including centralized data storage and backup.

In contrast, administrators must interrupt workers to get physical access to standard desktop computers.

Layer 2 Switching

By using a layer 2 ethernet switch users can be switched to different blades through an IP interface so that any computer connection can be routed to any user position, This makes possible the automation of moves / adds  / changes.

User Aesthetics

With Cubix DCD, there are improved HVAC and environmental controls because each worker’s blade PC is located in a centralized climate controlled secure datacenter.  Also, workspace efficiency is maximized.

In contrast, desktop computers generate heat and have noisy fans.  In some work environments, each worker may have as many as 3 computers on his/her desktop – generating three times the normal noise and heat.  These computers also take up valuable office space and clutter the work area with cables and cords.

Reduced Costs

With centralized resources, costs are reduced.  Hardware maintenance is simplified, downtime is reduced, and the conditioned environment extends the lifespan of the PC blade equipment.  In addition, you can better leverage your overall infrastructure.  With the PC blades centrally located, all users can now take full advantage of newly implemented technologies like full bandwidth fiber backbones, SAN storage devices/networks, etc. Costs are saved through productivity gains.

In contrast, there are dozens of studies that show that ordinary PCs have a high total cost of ownership factor.
