Features & Benefits of Data Center Desktops

Cubix’s Data Center Desktops provide a user experience that is based on performance technology viable today and into the future. The DCD is an end-to-end architecture featuring the clearest, highest resolution desktop using digital technology over copper.

DCD offers an unparalleled combination of performance, flexibility, density and reliability with a specific focus on the elimination of single points of failure for continuous operation. Cubix’s DCD covers the contingencies – today and in the future.

Digital Video Quality

  • DCD offers true Digital Video (DVI) quality for flat panel display screens
  • DCD had no degradation of video quality over the distance of the specified cable (Cat5, Cat5e, Cat6) because the video graphics controller resides on the desktop
  • Constant color and sharpness calibrations due to signal attenuation and cable twist differences are eliminated
  • Multi monitor support exists for two and four headed displays

Pentium 4 to Dual Xeon Processing Power

  • DCD removes fan noise and heat generation in the workspace areas by providing the ability to install Cubix PC blades in climate controlled, secure and managed datacenter environments
  • DCD supports as many as 6 single Pentium 4 and single/dual Xeon PC blade configurations in 6U of rack space
  • Run processor intensive, multi tasking, number crunching applications at state-of-the-art speeds with 64bit I/O

Back Racked Management

  • CubixVision offers intuitive visual representation of DCD processing assets and resources with out-of-band Ethernet communication
  • Browser based remote management of processing resources including redirected BIOS at boot up, remote workstation power on/off plus hard reboot, out-of-band diagnostic monitoring are all available to numerous privileged-enabled administrators

Back Racked Density And Flexibility

  • Densely packaged blade PC technology but not at the expense of reliability and flexibility
  • Interchangeable components. Allows configuration changes without loss of investment. If the project implementation strategy changes over time, PC blades can be moved from the rack to the desktop and vice-versa. Drive type, PCI slot number, and adapter voltage support can be changed by moving the PC blade to a different canister

Layer 2 Switching

  • By using a layer 2 ethernet switch users can be switched to different blades through an IP interface so that any computer connection can be routed to any user position, This makes possible the automation of moves / adds  / changes.
