WSR V - Twisted Pair Remote V

Remote Solution – for Twisted Pair Cable

Transmit keyboard, mouse, USB, video, serial and audio signals using a single twisted pair CAT6 cable.
Save space and eliminate noise and heat radiation from workstations at the desk.
Realise brilliant quality for analogue and digital video signals.

Description

With the Twisted Pair (TwP) Remote V you can readily remote local workstations into a protected and climate controlled area such as a system room.
Save energy and costs for air-conditioning on the trading floor or in the control room.
Clear the desks! Use office space more effectively and benefit from a smaller desk footprint without computers at the workplace.
The TwP Remote V solution supports various platforms and interfaces and is independent of hardware vendors.

Highlights

  • Supports most resolutions up to 1920x1200 @ 60 Hz (RB)
  • Supports USB 2.0 (Full Speed)
  • On-screen menu for fine tuning and adjustment of settings controlled from the keyboard at the desk
  • Remote analogue or digital video, audio and data links over one twisted pair cable
  • Eliminate noise emissions and heat radiation at the desk
  • Downsize desk footprints
  • Achieve up to 240m distance between desks and system room
  • Full or semi automatic adjustment of gain, equalisation and skew compensate for cable loss and attenuation

Features
The TwP Remote V transmits analogue and digital video, serial data, audio and both USB and PS2 signals in real time.
Workstation security is completely unaffected. No software or driver installations are required.
An additional TwP cable and Remote V units are required for each additional video source.

Interfaces
TwP Remote V supports the following interfaces:

  • Video (DVI-D or VGA)
  • USB 2.0 (Full Speed)
  • PS/2 (Keyboard and Mouse)
  • Audio (Stereo)
  • Serial data (RS-232)

Transmission / Maximum Distance
Transmission occurs in real time over CAT6 (or higher) twisted pair cable. The maximum distance between the workplace and system room is 240m.

Video signal
Coming from the workstation’s graphic card, the video signal input on the transmitter side can be either analogue (D-SUB HD15) or digital (DVI-D). If supported by the workstation, monitor DDC data will be transmitted via the IC bus.
At the receiver side, the video signal output can be digital or analogue.
TwP Remote V supports VESA-Standard resolutions up to 1920x1200 @ 60Hz RB (Reduced Blanking) and some non-VESA formats.

Product Line
The TwP Remote V is available as a standalone and a rack model.

Rack module
TwP Remote V EURO format cards are mounted and powered by chassis available in different sizes.

  • Compact desk housing with integrated or external power supply and ventilation
  • 19” 3U chassis with redundant dual power supplies

Standalone module
TwP Remote V is available as a standalone module with an external power supply

Cabling system
The use of CAT6 (or higher) shielded or unshielded twisted pair cable for signal transmission between the transmitter and receiver ensures a high picture quality.
The workstation’s data video, serial, USB or PS2 and stereo audio signals are transmitted together with the video over a single twisted pair cable.
Additional video signals require a separate cable connection to the desk.

Compensation of cable loss
During transmission, the quality of the signal decreases according to the length and characteristics of the cable.

Attenuation
Attenuation results from impedance characteristics (capacitive, inductive and resistive) of cable. It is visible as a blurred picture on the monitor.

Skew
Depending on production methods, the four-paired conductors in a twisted pair cable are usually of unequal length.
The three colours (RGB) are transmitted separately each using a single pair of wires. This results in skew delays between the colour signals, appearing as misaligned colours on the screen.

Compensation
The TwP Remote V automatically compensates for the most significant types of cable loss.

Space saving modules
The TwP Remote V is available as EURO format cards for installation in a chassis.
Different chassis models (also with redundant PSU) are available in different sizes and shapes. Customized solutions will be developed and produced upon request.
At the desk, chassis supporting the TwP Remote V receiver are very compact in size, keeping the desk footprint down to an absolute minimum. Advanced solutions have already been developed and implemented in partnership with innovative furniture suppliers.

WEY Allocation System
For clients with a WEY Allocation System, the TwP Remote V receiver can also be used as a videoswitch receiver.
