PCI(X) Dual Transmitter card Card module for transmission of PS2, RS232 and 2 video signals. PCIX card modules are mounted directly in PC's PCI or PCIX bus. Card uses only power from PCI bus. Standalone - Single/Dual/Quad Receiver. Standalone receiver boxes with external power supply.
Cabling system Use of a CAT5 or higher shielded or unshielded twisted pair cable for the signal transmission between transmitter and receiver ensures a high picture quality. Data (KB, MS, SER) and audio signals of the PC are transmitted together with video signal over one twisted pair cable. Additional video signals require a separate cable connection to the desk.
Compensation of losses
During transmission the quality of the signal decreases according to the length and characteristics of the cable. WS-Remote is able to compensate the most significant cable losses like skew delay and attenuation. Attenuation losses result from cable the impedance (capacitive, inductive, resistance). They manifest themselves on the monitor as blurred and weak picture. Depending of the production method four-paired wirings of twisted pair cables may vary in length. The three colours (RGB) of the video signal are separately transmitted using one pair of wiring per colour. This results in skew delays between the 3 colour signals. These losses appear as
misaligned colours on the screen.
Space saving modules
The WS-Remote product family is available in different mounting types:
- Standalones (single, dual, quad) or
- EURO format cards
for installation in a chassis. Our highlight is the WS-Remote PCI card; a dual transmitter card for direct installation in the PC, using a PCI or PCIX slot. Card uses only power of PCI BUS. PC’s security is not affected, since no software or driver is required.
